About AOR Europe
Advanced Orthomolecular Research (AOR) was founded in Canada in the
early nineties and is now a well-known name throughout Canada and the
USA. The company has established a reputation for developing highly
innovative, pharmaceutical-quality food supplements and bringing them
to market ahead of its competitors.
In 2004 the company launched its range of supplements in the UK for the
first time. Based in London, AOR Europe has rapidly gained a reputation
for providing superior, research-based products. Many practitioners across
the UK and Europe have incorporated AOR products into their
nutritional programmes and a growing number of retailers are stocking
the range and receiving positive consumer feedback.
The Beginnings
In the late eighties, Dr. Traj Nibber PhD, a UK-trained Pharmacist,
and current Director of Research at AOR, was approached by People With Aids (PWA),
an advocacy group searching for hard to source formulations for
AIDS patients. Surprised to discover that the existing food supplement
industry was not marketing nutrients whose role in health had already been well established
through rigorous scientific testing, Dr. Nibber started to source and compound the specific
formulations required by PWA. Then, as his contacts with global pharmaceutical and natural health
product suppliers grew, he began to develop and launch his own unique formulations.
And so AOR was born, and the company has grown steadily ever since.
Innovation
Innovation, supported by solid scientific research, is at the heart of AORs development programme. It
was the first company to introduce a genuinely complete vitamin E-complex (tocopherols and tocotrienols)
supplement in the form of Total E and it brought Canada its first vegetarian Glucosamine supplement.
In 2000 AOR brought the world its first R(+)-lipoic Acid supplement containing the genuine orthomolecular form and
not the racemic hybrid of the natural R(+)- and synthetic S(-)- forms found in lipoic acid or alpha-lipoic
acid supplements. A year later it brought Canada Lyprinol®, a source of the rare omega-3 fatty acid ETA which may
provide more potent support against inflammation than other omega-3 sources. In 2002 AOR gave North America
its first Menatetrenone (under the name Peak K2™), the mammalian-specific form of vitamin
K2 for bone health support; and Benfotiamine, a lipid-soluble derivative of thiamin (Vitamin B1).
Education
Education is a key component in the AOR Europe marketing strategy, and in 2006 the company
launched a series of seminars in London as part of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programme for Practitioners.
Plans are in place to extend these across the UK demonstrating AORs ongoing commitment to education.
The seminars also provide an ideal opportunity for practitioners to meet and discuss their needs with
the AOR Europe team.
As the company continues to grow throughout Europe, the principles on which AOR were founded
Scientific Integrity and Innovative Research remain at the core of the company, bringing the very
latest in nutritional research to the marketplace.
